Orthodontic Treatment

EARLY TREATMENT

Generally, most orthodontic problems are best treated during adolescence, but there are specific problems that definitely benefit from being corrected earlier. Cross-bites, severe jaw discrepancies, some types of crowding, blocked-out teeth, or the early loss of primary teeth are examples of problems that should often be treated at an early age. An early treatment evaluation is the best way to identify any of these problems and establish the best treatment plan for your child.

ADOLESCENT TREATMENT

This is the traditional age to begin orthodontic treatment. Once all of the baby teeth have been lost and the permanent teeth have erupted, orthodontic correction can be completed with the greatest efficiency. The exact age varies, but most kids that will benefit from orthodontics are ready for treatment between 11 and 13 years of age.

ADULT TREATMENT

It is never too late to start orthodontic treatment, and more adults are getting treatment than ever before. Many did not have the opportunity to get orthodontics as adolescents, while others are undergoing re-treatment for relapse. Still others are noticing crowding that is often associated with normal aging and are looking for a more youthful appearance. Whatever the reason, we offer several alternative treatment options.
